İhsan Ateş studied History at the Faculty of Letters of İstanbul University. Starting his career at LC Waikiki, he was appointed as Regional Manager, Credit Inquiry Manager and Sales Manager respectively, between 1990-2001. After completing his  marketing training in 2001 in England, he returned to Turkey and established a consultancy company under the name PBD, providing consultancy services to 35 different local retailing companies.

He started working for DeFacto as consultant in 2003 and  has been appointed the DeFacto Retail Group President and Deputy Chairman since 2005.
